As from April 2005, employers of nannies registered on the new government Childcare Approval Scheme will be entitled to financial support towards the cost of employing a nanny.

The cost of registation will be £96 for the year; this will include an enhanced dissclosure (CRB check) even if the nanny has recently had one done.  The Nanny must have a relevent childcare qualification or has attended an induction course, which is deemed appropriate. The Nanny must also hold a valid First aid certificate.
